IIf there ever was a time when love was really important, it is now. This is because if there ever was a time when love seems to have disappeared, it is now. If there ever was a time when we had to talk about the warmth and hope of love, it was now. Don’t give up and never let go …
But if we can somehow keep our hearts and minds open, the power of love has the potential to work miracles for us …
Maybe it’s just me. I mean, maybe I’m over-sensitive and hyper-emotional. Maybe it’s because I live alone. Maybe I’m paying too much attention to the news. Whatever the reason I feel is real – legitimate. At least it is for me.
I don’t like what’s going on around me. And I care enough – not just for myself – that it hurts. Maybe our friend up there is the same.
Yes, I understand that many people are not showing their best faces in the face of the virus and disruptive social and political unrest. But that’s exactly my point. I am amazed by these faces and the behavior associated with them – coldness, meanness and hatred.
People have to take a long look in the mirror. And I can’t be the only one who thinks that way.
Trained as a consultant, it goes without saying that you concentrate on solutions – relief. Nice sidebar: My daughter occasionally calls with an urgent problem. The good old father listened and mixed in possible solutions. Well, that was until she told me that she only needed me to let her bleed. Lesson learned (but I’m still throwing ideas).
However, when it comes to our current upheaval, I really think about solutions every day. And the only thing I can come up with – that all parties may at least understand – is love.
To be honest, I really think we need something spiritual. But I can imagine that millions turn away when it is mentioned.
The power of love
I have always believed in the power of love. Maybe we’re in the same boat. Still, there are so many that have to come on board. And we would “love” to have it, wouldn’t we?
Sure, the power of love can be a difficult concept. Heck, who didn’t have his share of denials and disappointments?
But if we can somehow keep our hearts and minds open, the power of love has the potential to work miracles for us. It can help us feel so good – alone and together.
But of course the absence of love can lead us to the depths of fear and despair. And that is exactly the case today.
What can we do?
I don’t know anything about you, but I won’t accept this social and very personal misery.
The first task on my side of the fence is self protection. What use do I get to someone when I’m totally done? I just can’t let cold, meanness and hate eat me alive.
None of us can.
Hey, if that means not following the news anymore, so be it. And when it comes to encounters with opposing views and closed minds? Why should I sign up for it? I am sure there are things you may want to improve.
But, you know what? Whether in the context of personal protection or positively influencing others, I will continue to believe in the power of love and will exist in that belief. Knowing that there is something more powerful than the world and setting an example is an honorable way to live.
Guys, we can’t give up love, nor can we let go of it.
One of my poems
If you follow inspire4u, you probably know that I’ve written a lot of poems over the years. I want to share one of my “love poems” …
Love is here
Trust me now
Keep me close
Let me kiss that tear
Because I would do my best
A solid stone among the others
Now calm and no fear
Fate would never leave you here
Where painful strains could track you down
And masquerade would abound
There are no restless preferences
To complicate the darkest day
Because love is here
For my money, that’s just an example of the power of love. I am sure you can come up with more ideas.
Let’s wrap it up
These are extremely difficult times, aren’t they? And I wonder if you have reached a point where you think that love – warm and hopeful – has disappeared. Please don’t buy that.
I still believe in the power – the present – of love. Keep giving it up and never let it go
The poem I shared comes from my eBook Feelings & Rhymes Through Treacherous Times
