An update from our director

I hope this e-bulletin finds you all fit and healthy and adapts appropriately to your new life during the Covid 19 outbreak. It is a challenging time for all of us, both as an individual and as a global community. We encourage you to read our blog section and related articles to learn how to stay healthy: “Covid-19: Resilience in Adversity” and “Nobody Said the Sunshine!” And share our “Now Support” page with anyone you think needs them at this time.

The Mind Matters team, like you, is looking forward to a time in which this is behind us and in which we can all draw positive learning from it. As we look to the future, it is important for Mind Matters to consider both the current and future implications of C19, and I find it useful to share our plans with you:

Digital learning

MHFA England announced last week that appropriately qualified MHFA instructors can offer 3 of their training products: Adult (4 hours) Mental Health Aware; Youth (3 hours) Mental health conscious; and the newly introduced 4-hour MHFA refresher – the latter is aimed at delegates who completed the one or two-day courses more than 3 years ago.
We have scheduled an open MHFA refresher course on Friday May 29th at 5:00 p.m. If you want to book your place, you can do so here via Eventbrite.

We are also working with LivingWorks Canada on discounted places on their LivingWorks Start course and ask our interested customers to send us a registration of interest with likely numbers of delegates. Discounts are based on volume, so it is important that we set this first.

There is also another mental health awareness program that we may be able to offer in the coming weeks / months, but we are still in discussions with the provider. We will keep you up to date on future developments.

Postponed courses

For those of our customers who have made the appropriate decision to postpone your training course with us, I encourage you to consider your preferred future training dates. I recommend checking dates from late June / July, and Mind Matters offers flexible services to run your course over a weekend if that minimizes the future impact on your business. We recommend that you forward your data as soon as possible so that you can secure your preferences. If we need to push the course again, we will do so – Our cancellation policy does NOT apply to Covid 19 changes. We anticipate high future demand for training courses due to the backlog of organizations who want our courses and the unfortunate impact that C19 may have on mental health. As expected, the focus on supporting mental health is a key feature of C19 advertising. This increased profile increases people’s awareness and increases the demand for the services we offer at Mind Matters.

New course bookings

While we are in a blocking phase for security reasons, we are still Open to business. We are still accepting new bookings for both internal and open virtual courses (while blocked) and for future open and internal course deliveries face to face. You can find our open course dates here. We currently have a minimal headcount, but all emails are answered within 24 hours. If you would like to discuss one of our courses, make a booking or check possible training dates, please contact us. As mentioned above, we expect increased future demand for our services and are keen to make plans to prepare for them.

We thank you for the kindness and support you have shown me and my team during this time. We wish you good health and mental well-being and look forward to working with you as early as possible!

Stay home, stay safe, everyone!
